Getting to Andros Island, The Bahamas is very easy!
We may be slightly off the beaten path, but that's a big
part of our appeal. Even though we're not in the center of a big tourist hub (thankfully!) we're really quite accessible.

We have lots to do here at Small Hope Bay, nestled away on Andros in the Bahamas. Activities that will keep everyone happy, from reading in a hammock, learning to dive for free with our free DSD Course, Diving the Wall, Snorkeling, Bird Watching and taking a flying leap into a Blue Hole. We've even got a well stocked completely free bar if you've had enough excitement for the day. We have the best Bahamian Activities available!
Bicycles are free for guest use. Tour the areas surrounding Small Hope Bay Lodge. We have maps and suggested itineraries. The small village of Fresh Creek is a short 20 minute ride to the south. Visit the Androsia Batik Factory. Or bike a few miles north to an inland blue hole for a fresh water swim you can even ask us to pack you picnic for free.
We have binoculars, bird lists and great places for viewing which we are happy to show you in a guided tour or for you to explore on your own. We also host a number of birding groups throughout the year. Also see About Birds on Andros. Active Bird Watchers come from all over the world to see the best birds in the Bahamas especially our endemic birds like the Great Lizard Cuckoo.
This is our specialty and we were the first dive resort in the Bahamas. Activities we offer for Diving and Snorkeling are three one-tank dives a day, night dives, shark dives, and one-on-one Specialty Dives anytime. Plus we offer SCUBA Certifications, Nitrox Certification, SASY equipment for kids, and free SCUBA intro lessons for those who want to try it. All of this on the Andros Barrier Reef - the 3rd largest reef system in the world!
Bonefishing, reef fishing, deep sea fishing--we can arrange it all! Andros is known as the "Bonefish Capital of the World". We can even show you how to improve your cast with our world class guides!

We have a variety of half- and whole-day guided nature tours – whether in the Blue Hole National Park, which is a close neighbor to the lodge, or in Captain Morgan’s footsteps- Andros is a Naturalist' Paradise with much to discover. Tours are guided by experienced Guides on Staff (additional fee).
On the beach, by the ocean, under the stars, with a kalik!
One of our favorite Bahamian activities. If you don't know how this is done, ask one of us to teach you.
We have ocean kayaks free for your use, plus some suggested routes to take.
We have stand up paddle boards free for you too! Explore the calmwaters of the bay, get into the creeks, or even practice some yoga.
We have certified massage therapists that come to Small Hope and gives 1/2 hour or full hour massages in your room, or overlooking the ocean (additional fee).
We have maps and marked trails and booklets to help you identify the flora and fauna you see along the way. Guided Eco-tours are also available.
We have a sailboat free for use as well. Pack a lunch and sail out to Goat Cay or down to some secluded beach.
Not exactly an "adventure sport", but batik demos and outlet store souvenir shopping are both available at the Androsia Batik Factory 3 miles up the road. Grab a bike or a taxi and visit the factory that has been employing Androsians since 1973. If you want to do a more formal tour and make your own batik just let the office know and they will arrange it for a $25 fee (minimum 4 participants). If your not feeling that "adventurous" Small Hope does have their own boutique with logo items, sundries, souvenirs, and island made goods.
Daily trips by boat (minimum 4-6 snorkelers), special excursions, plus plenty of great snorkeling from shore in our crystal clear waters. Or join our morning dive boat and snorkel on the reef during the second dive.
Anytime is a good time to stroll along the beach at Small Hope. It's perfectly safe, day or night. (Take a midnight swim!)
We also have a windsurf board for a great time out on the water!
