Small Hope Bay teamed up with the Bahamas Dive Association and the Ministry of Tourism and others to show private pilots one of the many unique pleasures that await them when they fly to the Bahamas. Since 90% of our country is under water, the Bahamas brought a swimming pool to this airshow--and offered a free SCUBA experience to anyone willing to try. Record weather temperatures at the event brought record numbers of willing participants--over 1300 people gave it a try!

Over the weekend, Small Hope Bay Lodge, Stella Maris Resort and the Out Island Promotion board hosted a dinner party--complete with Goombay smashes, conch chowder, conch fritters and rum cake.

Small Hope also raffled off a four-night all-inclusive stay. On hand for the event was Bahamas reef conservation spokesperson Jean- Michel Cousteau. Mr. Cousteau, who teamed with the Bahamas to promote the Jean-Michel Cousteau Out Island Snorkeling Adventure, was en route to Iceland to continue his work with Keiko the Whale (of "Free Willy" fame). Cousteau and marine scientists are attempting to reintroduce Keiko to the wild.
